Dank
Die Idee für diese Seite ist entstanden, als ich im Web nach Bildern eines Küstenabschnitts Cornwalls suchte und so auf Geograph British Isles stieß. Die Philosophie hinter diesem Projekt hat mich sofort begeistert, so dass ich mich immer öfter fragte, warum es ein solches Projekt nicht für meine Region gibt.
Allerdings wäre ich selbst nie in der Lage gewesen, etwas ähnliches auf die Beine zu stellen, hätten uns die Betreiber von www.geograph.org.uk nicht den Quelltext zur Verfügung gestellt. Auch standen sie uns bei Problemen und Fragen mit Tat und Rat zu Seite. Herzlichen Dank dafür insbesondere an Barry Hunter.
Für Anregungen und Mithilfe beim deutschen Projekt danke ich Stephen Hocker und Christian Lipp. Ulrich Meier hat sich unter anderem viel Arbeit mit den Karten (Seen in Bayern, Küsten) gemacht. Auch beim Erfassen der Städte und insbesondere der Landkreise hat er einen großen Teil der Arbeit geleistet. Ohne seinen und Sebastian Ballards Einsatz bei der Moderation hätte ich noch weniger Zeit für die Weiterentwicklung der Seite.
Grenzen
Die Grenzen stammen größtenteils von OpenStreetMap. Vielen Dank auch an geoclub-User "flopp" für seine Mithilfe.
Städte
Ein Teil der Städtekoordinaten wurde der OpenGeoDB entnommen.
Karten
Vielen Dank "Nop" für die Erlaubnis, die Wanderreitkarte einbinden zu dürfen, sowie Andy Allan für die Erlaubnis, die OpenCycleMap einbinden zu dürfen.
Kartendaten
Die statischen Mapnik-Kartenkacheln für die verschiebbare Karte wurden aus OpenStreetMap-Daten erstellt, die von der GEOFABRIK als Deutschland-Auszug zur Verfügung gestellt werden.
Digitales Höhenmodell
Die "Relief"-Kartenkacheln für die verschiebbare Karte wurden aus CIAT-Daten erstellt. Zum Erstellen der Kacheln hat "Nop" von der Wanderreitkarte hilfreiche Tipps gegeben.
