Taking water
Here the new locomotive takes water from the disguised water tower descibed in UUS6802 : Bahnhof Steinbach.
Note the scale on the side of the building indicating water depth is in reverse. A float in the tank is attached to a rope that comes out through the top of the wall to a weighted pointer. When the tank is full, the float is "up" and the weight is "down", so the highest number is at the bottom.
The powerful nature of the locomotive can be seen clearly: it is an 0-4-4-0 dual locomotive, similar to a Mallet type, although the cylinders are at the inboard ends of the bogies. It is, in effect, two 4-coupled mechanisms under a single frame and boiler.
