I took this photograph for two reasons. Firstly I was fascinated by the collection of roofs and roofing materials. Secondly I was determined to record a farm building in less than perfect repair. My travels in Germany had shown that the standards of building maintaince are far higher than in Britain, and I associated this sort of ramshackle appearance with British, not German farms.

A more recent visit I noticed that the place had been repaired to a high standard!
