Insel Ruden
North of Peenemunde.
During the Peenemunde Raid by the allied forces in World War Two, the Pathfinder Radar with wich the bombers were equipped was programmed to take its first fix from Ruden Island. However the island is so small that the radar failed to detect it, and the first fix was taken on the coastline, with the result that the bombs were dropped south of the target, so civilians and labour camp workers were killed.
