An isolated road bridge, waits for its road. In 2016 the B50 Autobahn will pass this way, crossing the Mosel on a 160m high bridge, Hochmoselübergang, and following the edge of the Hunsrück plateau to Longkamp. The road is being built to serve Hahn Airport and link the airport up on the Hunsrück with Belguim and the Netherlands without the laborious descent and climb across Moseltal. There has been a lot of opposition to the project, especially from those concerned about drainage to the vineyards below.
